David W. Hands
David Hands is the founder and managing attorney of Hands Law. After graduating from Fayetteville State University, David earned his juris doctor with high honors, magna cum laude, from North Carolina Central University School of Law (“NCCU”). While at NCCU, David was a Thurgood Marshall Scholar, NCCU Foundation Scholar, Contracts Teaching Assistant, and Senior Editor of the prestigious NCCU Law Review.
David also worked brief stints as a summer associate with the following legal employers: (1) Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein, LLP; (2) Moore & Van Allen; and (3) First Union's legal department, which is now Wells Fargo.
After passing the North Carolina Bar Examination, David gained invaluable experience as an antitrust Attorney with the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. While there, he worked with a team of attorneys and economists evaluating the competitive effects of multi-million dollar mergers/acquisitions in the petroleum and pipeline industries.
David founded Hands Law Office, PLLC in early 2004. Since its founding, the firm has advocated for thousands of clients in North Carolina. David and his wife, Ty Hands, are the proud parents of two sons: David Jr. and Devin.
