David B. Sherman
David Sherman is a North Carolina licensed attorney at Hands Law. Originally from Walnut Cove, North Carolina, David graduated with honors, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and a minor in Rhetoric from Hampden-Sydney College, in Hampden-Sydney, Virginia. After his undergraduate studies, David took a year off before attending Charlotte School of Law where he earned his juris doctor in 2013.
Law school presented David with many hands-on experiences. As a law student, David was able to see his future profession in real time when he interned with the Mecklenburg County Trial Court Administrator’s Office and as an extern for the Honorable Ronald L. Chapman. As an extern for Judge Chapman, David became acquainted with the family law bench and assisted Judge Chapman in handling many of the same matters he handles as an attorney today. During the summer after his second year of law school, David was one of twelve interns with the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office. During this internship, David applied his knowledge in the courtroom as he handled domestic violence and child abuse bond hearings, pleas, and trials while on the Office’s Domestic Violence team.
After passing the North Carolina Bar, David became licensed to practice law in April 2014. Since then, David has worked both as a contract and family law attorney. In August 2016, David joined Hands Law where he focuses his practice primarily in the areas of family, criminal, traffic, small claims, and special proceedings.
David currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina along with his wife, Meredith. In his free time, he enjoys coaching Little League baseball, running, playing golf, and spending time with friends and family while watching the Charlotte sports teams.
